Q&A with Jennisse Duller

Q: Tell us about your background as a registered nurse.

A: 2009 Graduated with my BSN (Philippines). 2013 NCLEX-RN Passer. Radiology Nurse, Step-Down RN (2 Hospitals), Case Manager, Home Care Nurse and Community Nurse (Care Station).

Q: Why did you choose to become a registered nurse?

A: Helping people was something that was always in me. I never thought that I would be a nurse. Thank God my mom encouraged me. With that, helping others as a nurse worked out perfectly. And I’m glad I did.

Q: Why did you choose to practice in an open access primary care practice?

A: Specialty was always my first love. I started as a Radiology RN, and it broke my heart when I had to leave it. When this opportunity opened, something inside me woke up.

Q: What unique skills do you possess?

A: Communication skills. Upbeat personality. Every time my patient feels comfortable being my patient, that gives me and my patient a great nurse-patient relationship. With that, I can take care of my patients to the best of my ability.

Q: Describe your day to day activities, priorities and tasks. What do you like best?

A: Wake up, get the kids ready for school, get myself ready (day off: for gym, work day: to go to work), have my protein shake, drop the kids off to school/go to work. Run around for the kids activities. Dinner, wine and sleep.

Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of?

A: My degree and my kids.

Q: What are the key challenges of this field of medicine? How is it changing?

A: Patient satisfaction. Constantly changing, with our society now a days, there’s always something new that the patient will crave for. With that, our company should catch up on how fast our world changes.

Q: If you couldn’t be a registered nurse, what would you be doing?

A: I would have been a dance teacher and have my own business.

Q: What makes working at Care Station special?

A: It feels like family, every time I come in. I always look forward to working.

Q: Why should patients choose Care Station for their primary care?

A: Great doctors, great staff and always patient centered.

Q: Tell us a little something about yourself.

A: Outgoing, people person, open personality, very head strong. Always seek for improvement.

Q: How do you like to spend your free time?

A: Dance, gym, go crazy and be free with my kids.
